01 / START WITH YOUR LIFE

What should your pool
make possible?

This is the first page of your plan. Your reasons and the people using the pool will guide the layout, features and priorities you explore next.

LEARN + EXPLORE · OPTIONALA little more about layoutDepth, cost and whether a pool will fit your property.
GOOD QUESTIONWhere will people walk when the loungers are in use?
What about depth?

Start with the activities you want. Standing, exercise and swimming call for different conversations. Review a side section with the plan; water depth differs from shell dimensions. Jumping and diving require a specifically designed pool.

Does a curved pool cost more?

Shape alone cannot answer that. Size, perimeter, depth, features, access and site conditions all affect scope. Compare defined designs, not shape labels.

Will it fit my property?

Test access, utilities, drainage, setbacks, sun and space for future projects. A concept is a conversation starter. Property-specific surveys, engineering and approvals come next.

A SYSTEM, BUILT TOGETHER

Four layers. Different responsibilities.

A concrete pool is made on your property. The site, reinforcement, shell and finish each bring decisions worth understanding.

Gunite or shotcrete—what’s the difference?

Shotcrete describes concrete placed by spraying. “Gunite” commonly means dry-mix shotcrete: water is added at the nozzle. Wet-mix shotcrete reaches the nozzle already mixed with water. Both can produce quality concrete when properly specified and placed. Ask about the crew, material, reinforcement coverage, curing and inspection—not only the name.

LEARN + EXPLORE · OPTIONALHow the water movesTrace circulation, explore heating and chilling, and test running costs.
Follow a typical pool circulation loopWater leaves the pool, goes to the pump, filter, optional heating or chilling equipment and treatment, then returns. Equipment order, valves and suction protection depend on the designed system. The shallow ledge and steps extend across the pool’s width at its short end. Start, pause and explore at your pace.
01

Move the right amount of water.

The pump moves water through the system. Match its operation to the plumbing and the jobs it needs to do. Bigger horsepower is not a complete design.

03

Set the temperature for how you use it.

A comfortable swim, a cool dip and a warm spa soak call for different temperatures. Plan heating, chilling or both around your climate and use. Equipment, utility supply, cover use and operating modes all affect performance and running costs.

Simplified loop, not an installation plan. Final equipment order, valves, bypasses and suction protection are system-specific. Treatment is not always an in-line device.

Circulate.

Move water and distribute treatment. Steps, benches and ledges need attention, too.

Filter.

Remove particles. Filter selection and cleaning affect how the system operates.

Maintain.

Disinfect, test and balance the water. Clear water alone does not prove healthy water.

What could the pump’s electricity cost?

Explore one operating mode using measured or documented input power. Add other modes separately. This is pump electricity only.

Enter your values

Watts ÷ 1,000 × hours × days × electricity rate. This excludes heating, chilling, water, service and other ownership costs.

The example is hypothetical—not a recommended speed or schedule.
